With that being said, CO people always seemed nice, accepting and just happier in general so I wouldn't be concerned at all. I'm a runner and enjoy the gym and all of that stuff so the fitness in CO is definitely a big attraction to me. Where I live in Salem, MA is definitely the least fit city though I think it's also just the most accepting and inclusive city since it caters to that especially. Charlottesville, VA, another college town, was also pretty fit but not as fit as CO though they did have an elite running team there as well though outside of Charlottesville the fitness fell off quickly. I've lived in the Northeast, Fort Collins, and Virginia and CO was by far the fittest place. So moving to a new place can be a bit scary.Īlso I just wanted to add that I’m not from Texas or California so don’t worry about that!!Īnyways thanks again, especially to all of the nice comments! Maybe we’ll be neighbors one day! I’m learning to be okay with that but sometimes people completely hate you for literally just your body even if you are kind, funny, smart, etc. My body is just this way and despite what I do, it doesn’t change much. It’s given me a lot of insight into the town dynamics! I also wanted to add that I’m actually a pretty active person, eat well(ish) and love the outdoors (I’m currently at about 6,000 feet elevation). Is Fort Collins generally accepting of fat people? If you are plus-size, what are you experiences as a plus-size person here?ĮDIT: I want to thank everyone who replied (even the meaner comments because it shows what some FoCo people think). I know that Colorado is one of the fittest states. ![]() I’m definitely on the larger size for women and have struggled my whole life with my weight. ![]() The only thing I’m worried about it being fat. The town seems amazing (other than high living costs). I’ve been offered an amazing job in Fort Collins and would need to relocate from another state.
